Claim options for Same Sex Couple Health Cover

Once your or your partner's claim has been confirmed by Freedom Healthnet, and a surgical procedure has been recommended by a specialist, we will then let you know the amount of benefit you will be paid. You can then choose from the following options:

Treatment on the NHS

You can keep the full benefit amount for your surgical procedure, if either of you chooses NHS treatment.

Treatment at a UK private hospital as a paying patient

Should you wish to take advantage of a fixed price package, you or your partner can negotiate a package directly with a private hospital in the UK. Most hospitals offer packages where the cost of the procedure and all associated costs can be agreed beforehand. These costs can differ from patient to patient and depending on your individual circumstances, but can be agreed before your treatment. You or your partner will be able to keep any excess monies paid if your benefit level outweighs the cost of treatment. Do please note however, that you must settle invoices directly with the hospital, and that any excess in the charge must be paid by you, if you or your partner decides to have a treatment that exceeds the benefit paid.

Treatment abroad

You or your partner can be treated anywhere in the world. You or your partner will be able to keep any excess monies paid if your benefit level outweighs the cost of treatment. Do please note however, that you must settle invoices directly with the hospital, and that any excess in the charge must be paid by you, if you or your partner decides to have a treatment that exceeds the benefit paid.
