Claim options for Family Health Cover

Once a claim for yourself or a member of your family has been agreed by Freedom Healthnet and the Specialist recommends a surgical procedure(s) that is required, Freedom Healthnet will then confirm the monetary amount your Freedom family health policy pays in respect of the claim.

You and your partner then have several choices:

Treatment at a private hospital in the UK for you or your family as a self pay patient

Most hospitals will offer fixed price packages where the cost of the procedure and all associated costs are fixed. The procedure cost may vary depending on your or your family member's individual circumstances, but the cost will be guaranteed prior to the treatment.

Should you or your family member wish to take advantage of a fixed price package you can negotiate a package directly with the hospital. If the cost of the treatment is lower than the benefit level then you will be able to keep any surplus. Please note you are responsible for settling any invoices associated with the procedure directly with the hospital and any shortfalls if the hospital charge exceeds your procedure benefit.

Treatment on the NHS for you and your family

If you choose to have treatment on the NHS, you can keep the full benefit amount for the surgical procedure.

Treatment abroad for you and your family

You can choose to have your treatment anywhere in the world. If the cost of the treatment is lower than the benefit level then you will be able to keep the surplus. Please note you are responsible for settling any invoices associated with the procedure directly to the hospital and any shortfalls if the hospital charge exceeds your procedure benefit.
