Exclusions & Limitations of Private Health Insurance

As with any private health insurance policy, there are certain exclusions and limitations to the cover provided.

There are exclusions you should be aware of under the private health insurance plans from Freedom Healthnet. Some examples of our exclusions are:

  • Drug, solvent and alcohol abuse
  • Pre-existing conditions (unless we have approved treatment relating to them)
  • HIV/AIDS
  • Cosmetic Surgery
  • Excess (Optional)
  • Treatment undertaken by a Specialist without a GP referral
  • Kidney dialysis
  • Professional sports injuries
  • Self inflcited injuries
  • Sexual dysfunction
  • Treatment for verrucas or warts
  • Weight loss surgery
  • Chronic conditions (as defined in policy booklet)
