Individual Private Health Insurance - How do you make a claim?
1. Visit your GP
If you think you need to make a claim, visit your GP (General Practitioner) and get a referral to a specialist for your condition. You must do this before we are able to start the claims process for your hybrid cashplan policy.
2. Tell us
Once you see your General Practitioner and he / she has referred you to a specialist, you must notify Freedom Healthnet immediately.

3. Claim your entitlement
Once your claim is authorised, we will credit your account (unless otherwise specified).
4. Arranging your treatment
As a hybrid cashplan policy holder, you can proceed with treatment in a private hospital in the UK, get treated on the NHS or get treated abroad. Find out about the different ways you can arrange treatment.
Should you require additional support in arranging your treatment, we can assist you with a doctor, specialist or hospital search.
As outpatient treatment costs are lower and more frequent, we generally settle by reimbursement, once you have provided proof of payment for covered medical expenses. However, where practical, Freedom will settle your pre-authorised medical expenses either over the phone or online at time of treatment, direct to the hospital.
