Once you have received your cashplan benefit sum for your in-patient treatment, you have one of the following three choices:
1. Treatment at a private hospital in the UK as a self-pay patient
Freedom Your Choice health insurance policies provide the benefit sums directly to you. Due to this fact, you must approach the private hospital of your choice and request an Inclusive fixed price package.
Most hospitals will offer an all inclusive fixed price package where the cost of the procedure and all associated costs are fixed. The cost of treatment may vary depending on your individual circumstances but the cost will be guaranteed prior to the service. Should you wish to take advantage of a fixed price package you can negotiate a package directly with the hospital. If the cost of the treatment is lower than the benefit level, you will be able to keep the surplus.
Please note you are responsible for settling any invoices associated with the procedure directly with the hospital.
2. Treatment on the NHS
All Freedom Your Choice health insurance policies will endeavour to provide you with your benefit sums prior to your proposed treatment date.
If you subsequently choose to have treatment on the NHS, you can keep the full benefit amount we have paid you for the purposes of your surgical procedure.
3. Treatment Abroad
With a Freedom Your Choice health insurance plan, once you received your benefit payment, you can choose to have your treatment anywhere in the world.
We do not have a hospital list.
If the cost of the treatment is lower than the benefit payment we are providing, you will be able to keep the surplus.
Please note you are responsible for settling any invoices associated with the procedure directly to the hospital.
Please be aware that if you do not have the authorised in-patient treatment within 6 months with any of the above options, any additional treatment required directly or indirectly as a result of not receiving the authorised treatment will not be covered under your policy.
Should you require additional support in arranging your treatment, we can assist you with a doctor, specialist or hospital search.
